Hi everyone,

My name is Carissa David a proud grade two teacher at the Charlestown Primary learning institution. It is my belief that each child deserves a fair chance to learn. At CPS, the principal and teaching staff does everything in their power to ensure that each child is given the opportunity to do so; as we cater to all their primary learning needs. 

Students at the Grade two levels are at the concrete operational stage of their lives, where they are able to develop logical thoughts and conclude that things are not always as they seem. 

At Grade two we make learning meaningful and fun as we lay the foundation for greater expansion.  Children are exposed to different teaching strategies as we aim to develop their thinking, reading and writing skills.  They are also introduced to the process approach of writing short stories.  This skill enables them to think, plan and put their thoughts on paper; which helps in their preparation for the smooth transition to the junior level (grade three).

I am ecstatic about teaching at the grade two level and do hope that ‘you’ parents are just as eager to assist me in taking your child through this exciting educational journey.
