As this is our Athletics term, permit me to give a little insight into physical education and sports at the Charlestown Primary school.

Planning a training session is one of the most important responsibilities of the coach. The way you plan and conduct a session should be perfectly tailored to the students' athletic needs, hence, bringing about the best result in terms of training and general education. The initial learning of a child is through movement, therefore, movement is a major part of a child’s early life.

Each child should feel confident about him or herself, despite his or her ability. As a child develops, movement becomes increasingly important. His or her acceptance into peer groups is dependant somewhat on their physical performance.Children are often quite sensitive about their performance in front of their peers, as a result, my role as a physical educator is to provide students with the necessary training to succeed. This can be done by provinding the techniques to improve the physical abilites of each child. The benefits of exercise helps one to use the body more efficiently, improve bone and muscle growth, improve cardiovascular, gives better acceptance by the peer group, improve your physique and a generally healthier body.

Exercise should begin as early in life as possible.Very young children can and should participate in vigorous play activities which involve their large muscle group. This will result in a number of positive gains.
