The Palm Is Gained With Effort
   Home      Secretary

As the reliance on technology continues to expand in offices and schools, the role of the office professional has greatly evolved. Office automation and organizational restructuring have led secretaries and administrative assistants to increasingly assume responsibilities once reserved for managerial and professional staff. In spite of these changes, however, the core responsibilities for secretaries and administrative assistants have remained much the same.  These include performing and coordinating an office's administrative activities, storing, retrieving, and integrating information for dissemination to staff and clients, professionally answer the telephone, take messages and ensure that clients as well as staff members are comfortable in their working environment.

If you enjoy smiling, multitasking and constantly talking to people, you’ll be a great secretary at the Charlestown Primary School.  Being a Secretary is a lot harder than one would expect, but it is a position that comes with great responsibility and respect.  It could be incredibly enjoyable at times.

My job and experience as the school’s secretary though short, is extremely challenging at times.  However, I try my best to be very organized so that my work load becomes much easier.  I make a daily list of all the things I need to do and stick to it. Sometimes I’m very busy as other important tasks keep coming across my desk.  I try to stay focused and concentrate on the task at hand.  For me, there is never a dull day at school.  But with the motivation to succeed, a boss that is very supportive and a staff that even when it seems like they are not paying attention, gives encouraging words; I know I can achieve much and SUCCEED.

To
laugh often and much;
To win the respect of people and the affection of
children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal
of false friends;
To appreciate beauty,
to find the best in others,

To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child,
A garden
patch or a redeemed social condition;
To know even one life has breathed
easier because you have lived.

If
I achieved all that and more

Then
I would have succeeded as the school’s Secretary

Mrs. Karin Welcome
